"A Bend in the River"

These two processional pieces were created for Saint Mary's College Notre Dame, for the Holy Spirit Chapel and to help celebrate the 175th anniversary of the college in 2019. Each piece is 10 feet high by 4 feet wide.

The free standing pieces add color and celebration when flexibility is needed. The image is inspired by the windows of the chapel, the South Bend in the St. Joe River, and the theme of the Holy Spirit. Regina Wilson, Director of Campus Ministries, gave me this prayer phrase to ponder while creating this work, "Send down your Spirit and heal the face of the earth." I find this prayer relevant even more each day.
